UDL Implementation and Research Network Database

The searchable database below provides information on studies under each category in K-12 and higher education environments. The information includes the complete reference and brief abstract of the study.

National Inclusion Project

The NIP can accredit various places that work with children. The standards are a good foil for UDL and provide a similar language that aims to include students. A teacher could use the standards in conjunction with UDL principals to assess their classroom.

UDL Research in 15 Minutes Podcast

UDL Research in 15 Minutes is where researchers share their findings of the implementation, the impact, and their investigations of the Universal Design for Learning framework.

Redmond’s Goal Bank

The Goal Bank is an alternative to Goalbook when writing IEPs. If a teacher is already using Goalbook, the Goal Bank provides a chunked approach to goals and objectives. There are categories, like life skills, that can be contrasted with Goalbook as well.

UDL Curriculum Toolkit Demo Guidelines

The UDL Curriculum Toolkit contains numerous features to support students in the learning process and to enhance all students’ learning experiences. These features include providing a) multiple ways for content to be represented, b) various multi-media options through which students can express what they learn, and c) a dynamic environment designed to accommodate diverse learning engagement proclivities. The Demo allows for a teacher to check some of the major components of a UDL curriculum, but also on a lesson level. This can function as a checklist for lesson planning.

Step-by-Step Lesson Planning Using Universal Design for Learning

Dr. Ralabate walks teachers through the process of applying UDL to effective lesson planning. The 6 Steps component provides a worthwhile guideline that incorporates a lot of CAST’s UDL Guidelines.
