Let Me Talk App

A free ACC talker app for Android/Apple/Amazon products. Allows for students to line up images in a row. Over 9,000 images to use. Can take pictures of items and add them to the image library to use. Connects to UDL specifically through the UDL Guideline Action and Expression Checkpoint 4.2: Offer alternatives for visual information.

 

Bookshare

Bookshare is an online library. The library provides access to books in audio with customizable voices and reading speed. Highlights text as the audio reads out loud. Connects to UDL specifically through the UDL Guideline Representation Checkpoint 1.3: Offer alternatives for visual information. (Could also connect to alternatives for auditory information if the speed of read-aloud is adjusted).

 

Freckle

Freckle is an application designed for differentiated instruction for several subjects, but specifically for my students’ uses: ELA and math. The application includes adaptive practice, targeted assignments, fast practice, as well as lesson plans and benchmark assessments for teachers. Freckle can provide structured, differentiated independent practice on specific subject areas. The gamified aspect of Freckle provides an opportunity for students to self-monitor progress.  Connects to UDL specifically through the UDL Guideline Action and Expression Checkpoint 6.4: Enhance capacity for monitoring progress.
